How it works

Parse

Your references are split and parsed to extract DOIs, titles, and authors from any standard citation format.

Resolve

Each reference is matched to its DOI via CrossRef. If no DOI is present, we search by bibliographic text to find the paper.

Scan

CrossRef's update-to field (including Retraction Watch data) and OpenAlex's is_retracted flag are checked for each paper.

Report

Papers are classified as clear, retracted, expression of concern, or unresolved (could not be matched). Full details for each.
